Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.32%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which rose 1.25% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 1.22% or 0.22 points to end at 18.30 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 1.22% or 0.03 points to 2.82 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which fell 1.00% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.92 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) declined 0.67% or 0.02 points to end at 2.24 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was down 0.51% or 0.02 points to 3.11.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.00% or 0.08 to 7.92.

Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.22% or 0.88 to $73.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.37% or 0.95 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.40 to trade at $2,631.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.00.
