Entrepreneur and single mother Tanya King has built a successful life for herself in Beverly Hills, California.

Tanya grew up in the city of Scarborough near Toronto, Ontario in Canada, the daughter of a hardworking mother who taught her the value of saving money. Tanya attended the University of Toronto, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology.

A business owner several times over, Tanya King’s demanding career did not stop her from becoming a mother. In fact, the need to juggle running her companies with raising her children directly led her to learning how to intelligently invest in cryptocurrency and the stock market as a means of creating a new, passive revenue stream to support her family.

As she became more knowledgeable in this realm, Tanya King realized that many women were not taught about the stock market and cryptocurrency, even though this knowledge could lead to them becoming financially independent. For that reason, she decided to start mentoring female friends and other single mothers in matters of trading and finance in order to help them become financially independent and stable without having to work typical 9-5 jobs.

Tanya believes wholeheartedly that every person is endowed with a passion or gift that they can use to live their best life. It is her belief that the awareness and exploration of this passion or gift can lead any person to their true calling.

What do you currently do at your company?

I am an investor in cryptocurrency and a business owner several times over.

What was the inspiration behind your business?

In a nutshell, the inspiration was self-sufficiency. I wanted to be able to work flexible hours so I could take care of my children. Also, I had always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I knew from a young age that I wasn’t meant to work for anyone but myself.

What defines your way of doing business?

My way of doing business is largely defined by team building. I love ideas, and I am very much a big picture person, but I couldn’t do what I do successfully without the teams I’ve built helping me vet and implement and realize all of my ideas.

What keys to being productive can you share?

There are a few that leap to mind. First, wake up early and maintain an efficient and strict routine. Second, make sure you have a workspace that allows you to be productive. If your space is full of clutter and such, your mind will be full of clutter, which will make it much harder for you to be productive.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

I want to educate women about cryptocurrency, stock trading, and investing generally, so that they can build wealth for themselves and their families.

How do you measure success?

By those I help and the passion I have for my work. There is nothing like knowing that you’re helping those most in need of it and that your passion is being fulfilled.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is to work hard. No one is going to hand you everything you want on a silver platter, so you have to work hard. You have to do whatever it takes to get to where you want to be and achieve what you want to achieve.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

I would tell them that everything takes time. Don’t rush the journey because that’s the most important part; that’s where you learn the most. Work hard, but be patient because nothing happens overnight. And learn from your mistakes, or else you’ll keep making the same ones over and over.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

I love yoga and hiking. I also love watching my son play soccer. That’s a big one for me.

How would your colleagues describe you?

My colleagues would probably describe me as a charismatic, intellectual go-getter who is an out-of-the-box thinker.

How do you maintain a solid work life balance?

I adhere to a strict routine that factors in work life balance heavily. I know when I should be working and when I shouldn’t be. A solid routine will help you keep things in check.

What is one piece of technology that helps you the most in your daily routine?

That would have to be my iPhone. I simply wouldn’t be able to run my business without the many different types of communication it facilitates between me and my clients. I also keep my schedule on my iPhone. Put simply, it is invaluable to me in several ways.

What has been the hardest obstacle you’ve overcome?

The hardest obstacle I’ve overcome is being the breadwinner of my household and a mom at the same time. You don’t get to choose between those two things when you are a single mother, so you have to find a way to do both.

Who has been a role model to you and why?

My mother. She was also the breadwinner of the family, as well as an entrepreneur herself. I basically modeled myself after her, as well as my career path.

What is one piece of advice that you have never forgotten?

That also came from my mother. She taught me to save money. “No matter what happens, save a portion out of every check,” is what she often said to me. So, from a very early age, I learned to save and hit savings targets for myself.

What does success look like to you?

Success looks like creating a good life for myself and my children.

What is one piece of advice you would like to leave our readers with?

Find your passion and follow it. If it lights you up, then it is what you are meant to be doing. If you follow your instincts in this regard, everything else will fall into place.
