Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr), which rose 2.99% or 0.80 points to trade at 27.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT:OTEr) added 1.61% or 0.25 points to end at 15.74 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 1.43% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr), which fell 5.09% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.66 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 3.17% or 0.05 points to end at 1.65 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was down 2.78% or 0.01 points to 0.35.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 46 and 19 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.85% or 22.70 to $2,682.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.17% or 2.16 to hit $70.33 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.98% or 2.14 to trade at $73.84 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 100.92.
