Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.63%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 6.29% or 0.58 points to trade at 9.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) added 4.54% or 2.10 points to end at 48.38 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) was up 2.90% or 0.33 points to 11.71 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which fell 2.20% or 0.48 points to trade at 21.36 at the close. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 1.77% or 1.35 points to end at 75.10 and Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL) was down 1.47% or 0.17 points to 11.36.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 to 82 and 22 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 1.20 to $2,544.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.19% or 1.44 to hit $67.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.73% or 1.20 to trade at $70.39 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.67.
